The GBS system is Glazer's Business System. It was created and is maintained by a staff of 50+ in the IS department at Glazer's. Olinger converted to this system in September 2006.
GBS is our “central nervous system” which connects all of our products, customers, and vendors. All invoices, purchase orders, and accounts receivable and payable begin on the GBS system.
GBS then coordinates with the PocketAdvantage system to receive orders from sales reps; with our demand planning software to forecast proper order amount by SKU; with RoadNet from UPS Logistics to plan the routes; with BevPro from Dematic Corporation to help with case and bottle picking and loading of trucks; and with JD Edwards to handle all accounting functions. DI-Diver is our business intelligence software that ties into GBS for all reporting: warehouse key performance indicators, sales, quotas, and more.
Our sales representatives are each outfitted with a laptop or a Windows CE device that runs the PocketAdvantage software. They can refresh the data each morning to plan their sales calls and check the previous business. During the day, they can transmit orders wirelessly as needed.
